Wills and Probate
Wills
It is natural that you want your property and assets to pass to whoever you choose and that you don’t leave problems for your family or friends to deal with, without clear instructions from you.
By making a will you can make certain that you have arrangements in place to ensure that your wishes are put into effect when you die.
Once you have made a will it is, of course, important that you keep it up to date.
As we are specialists in probate and other estate work, we offer practical and up to date advice on the best way to arrange your affairs. Our job is to make each process as simple, clear and stress-free as possible.
Our Will service starts from as little as £175 plus VAT (£205.62) for a simple single Will and £300 plus VAT (£352.50) for simple joint Wills.
For wills other than the most simple, we will discuss the cost with you at the outset.
We also provide related services for Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax planning.
Probate
When a person dies, someone has to deal with their affairs. This is called administering the estate.
If the person who has died has left a will, they will usually have named one or two people to deal with their affairs. If you are one of these people, you may need to apply for Probate.
If, however, the person who has died has not left a will, the situation (and therefore the process) is more complicated. The person who has the legal right to deal with the estate will usually be a close relative of the person who has died.
If you are responsible for administering the estate, you have the difficult task of not only making all of the immediate practical arrangements but also of dealing with a number of often complicated issues such as Inheritance Tax calculations and liaison with the taxman, pensions, shares, bank accounts, business interests and claims against or by the estate, to name just a few.
We have the expertise to provide the most thorough, professional and worry-free service and in even the simplest of estates our professional advice can help you to ensure that the estate for which you are responsible is administered correctly.
Our range of services include:
- Making of Wills
