Declan Gallagher - Partner

Declan graduated from the Queens University Belfast Faculty of Law in 1988 and went on to secure a bursary to the Institute for Professional Legal Studies, qualifying as a solicitor in Northern Ireland in 1990.

Having been admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1994, Declan joined Burnett Barker in 1995 and became a partner in 1999.

Declan represents clients in police stations, Magistrates and Crown courts, defending in a wide range of criminal and motoring cases. Declan also represents Service personnel before Courts Martial and companies facing corporate prosecutions.

Although his practice remains mainly in the field of criminal law, Declan has extensive experience in other fields and diversifies according to the needs of his clients.

Declan is a member of the Criminal Law Solicitors Association, he serves on the South Eastern Circuit Liaison Committee and maintains his life-long passion about sport through his role as Secretary to the Eastern Counties Rugby Football Union Disciplinary Committee.

Declan plays tenor saxophone with 42nd Street Big Band and the Starlight Show Band.
